From Wire Services to Niche Websites to Newsletters, the Media Bias Chart Rates Them All

June web/print chart features 146 sources, 11 of them for the first time

The Ad Fontes Media analyst team has fully rated more than 2,600 online sources, from large, national media companies like the New York Times, to wire services like the AP, to regional weekly publications like the Phoenix New Times. They also analyze Spanish publications such as El Especial, niche websites like Tom’s Guide, and newsletters such as Very Serious with Josh Barro.

All of these sources are included on this month’s Media Bias Chart® for web/print. But why do we take the time to analyze such a range of websites? Because we know that people today get their information from all kinds of online sources — not just the ones that historically have been considered “news” — and it’s important to know if they’re reliable and unbiased.

Of the 2,600 online sources our team has rated, only 146 of them are featured on June’s Static Media Bias Chart® because it’s impossible to put all of them in a single image. A list of all 146 sources is available on our website.

Eleven sources make their debut on this month’s chart:

  • Adweek
  • American Liberty News
  • El Especial | El Especialito
  • GB News
  • Harlem Community Newspapers
  • Howie Carr
  • Inverse
  • NBC4 Washington WRC
  • The American Tribune
  • The Keystone
  • The Maple

If your favorite news sources weren’t included on this month’s chart, you can search for them by using the Interactive Media Bias Chart® on the website or on the mobile app available for iPhone or Android. It’s free, but there are limits in terms of how many searches you can conduct per day and/or how much source data you can access. To get expanded access, you’ll need a News Nerd subscription. And to access ALL of it, you’ll need a News Nerd Pro subscription. Check out our subscription options here.

Did someone share an online article with you, and you want to know if it’s legit? You can request that our team rate a particular article by submitting a link via our website.
