Ad Fontes Media has just released an exciting new education product designed to support educators in teaching media literacy. It’s that time of year again, the back-to-school season where administrators, teachers, and students embark on a new academic journey. Our new products include an Instructor Resource Manual (IRM) and a Starter Lesson plan that features multiple activities and assignments to guide teachers who want to incorporate the Interactive Media Bias Chart® into their media literacy curriculum.

These new resources for educators come at a critical time as media literacy education gains traction across the U.S. Many states have already passed legislation mandating the teaching of media literacy in schools, recognizing the critical importance of these skills in today’s information-saturated world. More states are actively working on similar legislation to ensure their students are  equally equipped.

At Ad Fontes Media, we are committed to fostering media literacy and helping educators prepare the next generation. To this end, our new educational tools are designed to make teaching media literacy a breeze. Our comprehensive Instructor Resource Manual provides the knowledge and strategies needed to effectively teach media literacy. It provides insights into using the Media Bias Chart and our rigorous content analysis methodology as teaching tools and offers best practices for classroom implementation.

The Starter Lesson Plan provides an introductory overview of media literacy and the Media Bias Chart as well as adaptable lessons suitable for various age groups and subjects, making it easy for educators to integrate media literacy into their curriculum. Intermediate and Advanced Lesson Plans are coming soon

These resources are the result of extensive research and collaboration with educators to ensure they are practical, engaging, and aligned with high academic standards. We believe that with the right tools, teachers can empower their students to become critical thinkers, responsible consumers of information, and informed citizens.

Whether you are a board of education looking for tools to help implement new media literacy  legislation across your district, or an administrator looking for tools that are readily adaptable across different subject areas, or a teacher looking to explore the possibilities of media literacy education in your classroom, or a parent who is looking to ensure your child is receiving a top-notch media literacy education, we’ve got you covered. Discover how Ad Fontes Media can support your efforts in equipping students with the skills they need to navigate the complex media landscape effectively

This school year, let’s embark on a journey of media literacy together. Join us in empowering the next generation to be critical thinkers, discerning consumers of information, and responsible citizens of the digital age. Together, we can shape a brighter, more informed future.
