The Ad Fontes Media analyst team has rated hundreds of podcasts for bias and reliability, and just like websites and TV programs, they fall from left to right and top to bottom on the Media Bias Chart®. But podcasts, by the nature of their format, are designed to be more analysis and opinion, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Still, it’s important to know that within the opinion and analysis ranges (24-40 on the vertical reliability scale), the higher up the podcast, the more the arguments tend to be rooted in fact rather than just opinion. Above 32 and particularly above 36, the analysis is typically strong. Take a look at the April edition of the Media Bias Chart® and see where your favorite podcasts fall.

Sixty-three podcasts are featured on this month’s edition of the static media bias chart (see the full list here). Our team has analyzed 730 news and news-like podcasts in all (that’s more than more than 2,800 episodes!), but it’s impossible to show all 730 podcasts on the same chart. For this reason, we choose a selection of them to include each month.

If your favorite podcasts are not on the April chart, you can still search for them using the Interactive Media Bias Chart® on our website, as well as our Media Bias Chart® app, available for iPhone and Android.

These 10 podcasts are featured on the chart for the first time this month:

  • Amicus with Dahlia Lithwick
  • At the Bar
  • I Doubt It with Jesse Dollemore and Brittany Page
  • Independent Americans with Paul Rieckhoff
  • Mark Reardon Show
  • PBD Podcast
  • Rachel Maddow Presents Bag Man
  • The Assignment with Audie Cornish
  • The Science of Politics
  • Ukraine: The Latest
