Midterm voting has begun, and as Election Day approaches, you might be looking for sources that provide fact-based and fair information. Ad Fontes Media has you covered! The October edition of the Media Bias Chart® for Web/Print that we’re releasing today contains several websites that focus specifically on election issues.

Near the top middle of the chart, in the green box, you’ll find Ballotpedia and VoteHub, which is new to the Media Bias Chart®. Sources in the green box (top middle) of the chart have been rated by our team to have a “middle/balanced” or “skews left/skews right” bias and to provide fact-based information.

Ballotpedia provides information and analysis about state and federal elections, as well as specific information about voting in your geographic area. VoteHub provides analysis, polling information and forecasts about upcoming federal and state elections.

Also in the green box is USAFacts. While this website doesn’t focus specifically on elections, it provides information and data that can help you to become a more informed voter. Recent topics covered on this website are “Where does campaign money really come from?”; “What is gerrymandering?”; and “Why does the U.S. only have two major parties?”

Other election-related websites included on this chart are Electoral Vote (another website that’s making its debut on the chart this month), which can be found in the “opinion” section of the chart with a “strong left” bias; and Election Central, which falls in the “contains misleading info” portion of the chart, with a “strong right” bias. Keep in mind that these websites are outside the green box and not recommended by our team to provide balanced and fact-based information.

The October web/print chart features 111 of the 3,030 websites our team has fully rated for bias and reliability because that’s all that would fit. We include as many logos as possible in order to meet demand, but we realize that the chart can get crowded and hard to read. That’s why we publish a list of all sources on each chart. You can find a list of the 111 sources on this edition of the web chart here. (Charts with podcast and TV/video sources will be published later this month).

If you’re interested in our ratings for a website not on this chart, you can search for it on our NEW Interactive Media Bias Chart®. Last week we released a new version of the interactive chart, and it lets EVERYONE search for data on all 4,880 web, TV/video and podcast sources we’ve rated! On the free versions you’ll have limits on how many times you can search (five searches all time on the free version, 10 searches per month if you create a free login). You can also now filter your search results by ownership, geographic location, and source or content topic.

For additional searching, you’ll need to subscribe for as little as $5 a month. Our subscriptions come with even more perks, like viewing how a source’s bias and reliability ratings have changed over time.

You can also search all sources we’ve rated on our free mobile app for Android or Apple (daily search limits apply).
