Vanessa Otero, CEO and Founder of Ad Fontes Media, visited Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, this week as part of the President’s Distinguished Speaker Series. Otero gave a public lecture, spoke to two classes, and met with editors and staff members of The Bachelor, Wabash’s student newspaper.

Otero’s lecture focused on media literacy, navigating today’s various media sources, and understanding how media content can divide and polarize us. She gave tips on how to navigate the news and engage with people who may have different viewpoints.

Otero said it’s helpful to visit campuses and classrooms to understand where students get their news and information and what challenges they face. “These students give me hope for the future,” she said.
